Singer Ronnie Liang amazes everyone as he is now a 2nd lieutenant in the Philippine Army!

Ronnie De Guzman Liang or simply known as Ronnie Liang in the Philippine entertainment industry from Angeles City, Pampanga. He is a 34-year-old Filipino singer, actor, and pilot. He is currently studying as a pilot at APG International Aviation Academy.

He is the former finalist of the popular reality-talent search franchise in the Philippines, “Pinoy Dream Academy”. He was the second runner-up next to Jay-R Siaboc, who is one of his closest friends from the said contest, and grand star dreamer “Yeng Constantino”. He sang the popular OPM hit “Ngiti”. He is also a mainstay of ABS-CBN’s Sunday variety show ASAP’08.

After he becomes a pilot, he is now a 2nd lieutenant in the Philippine Army! It was just a few days ago when the singer-actor finished his military training at Armor “Pambato” Division (AD) in the Philippine Army last February 14. He accepted the black beret from AD commander Major General Robert Dauz as a second lieutenant. He also underwent a Mechanized Infantry Operations Training (MIOT) for him to acquire more knowledge about being a reservist. Aside from that he also took courses on battle drills, armored vehicle defensive driving, and raid mission training. He shared that this kind of training serves as a humbling experience for him.

“Four a.m. pa lang, gumigising na. Super strict sa time and kilos, dapat talagang mabilis ka. From eating your food to taking a bath, sobrang ma-physical noong training. But at the end of the day, iisipin mo na malaki ang maitutulong noon sa character mo and pagmamahal sa bayan,” he shared in one of his interviews.

It can be remembered that it was back in 2018 when he started volunteering in the army. For him, it was really an important role to play being a reservist. His goal was to join the army, to serve the country, and to help the community especially in times of need. He revealed that the “Marawi Seige” which happened in 2017 was his wake up call in becoming a reservist.
