Senator Richard Gordon asks President Duterte to include private teachers and nurses from private institutions in the proposed salary increase!

True enough that it was really hard to earn a living especially nowadays that a lot of our basic necessities tend to increase exempt the monthly salaries of many Filipino employees. It was really hard to budget money when you only have very little and it was also never enough for the expenses of a big family. Recently, Senator Richard Gordon issued a statement that it would be best that the government would not only prioritize those workers in the public sector but to include those workers in private institutions as well as the government is planning for a wage hike.

“We thank the President for supporting our call to increase the salary of our teachers and nurses. But we need to make sure that those working in both government and private institutions will benefit from this. Hindi natin maaring pabayaan ang ating mga guro at nurse na nagtratrabaho sa mga pribadong institusyon,” this was the statement of Senator Gordon.
He had reminded everyone in a separate statement how important nurses are in our society. He also assured a lot of people that they will continue to fight and make sure that this workers would receive the right compensation they all deserve under the law. According to the Senator, nursing students would actually spend more than P500,000 for their tuition fee until the day that they pass their Nursing Licensure Exam just to receive small amount of salaries when they were finally employed. With this, it would be a big help for them to grant them more opportunities.

“The Department of Health (DOH) and the Local Government Unit (LGU) must come up with a program to hire more nurses with just compensation, especially in rural areas where there is hardly any access to health care.”, the Senator Richard Gordon proposed.
