Diether Ocampo is a 46-year-old Filipino actor, singer, model, and military officer. He is of German, Spanish, and Chinese ancestry. He started out as a dancer before being discovered by ABS-CBN in the mid-1990s.
He is part of the band Blow, where he is known as ‘Capt. Mongrel’. In 2001, he was an executive producer for The Pin-Ups debut album, “Hello Pain”, that enabled the band to become the first Philippines-based band to be signed to a U.S. label. He was married to Kristine Hermosa on September 21, 2004, which was later annulled on January 30, 2009.
Recently, he had been visible in front of the camera once again as he did some projects in some Kapamilya programs like “It’s Showtime”. And now he is one of the ambassador of discipline in the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) campaign “Disiplina Muna” which aims to bring back the culture of discipline of every Filipino people. Manila has been the pilot area of the campaign since Sunday. Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno and Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes are also members of the Ambassadors of Discipline.
Diether said on a video that today has been the time that even the smallest contribution will really had a greater impact for the change that we really wanted even before. He is also a member of Phillippine Coast Guard Auxilliary with a rank of Lieutenant Commander. It has been the reason why he joined the Philippine Coast Guard Auxilliary, for him to be part of a change which resulted because of discipline.
“Lieutenant Commander Diether Ocampo po of the Philippine Coast Guard Auxilliary. We’re in a time when everybody’s contribution no matter how small can make a big difference. Ito rin ang dahilan kung bakit kabilang na ako sa Philippine Coast Guard Auxilliary para maging bahagi ng pagbabago bunga ng dispilina at pagnanais na maglingkod sa bayan,” he said.
