A Student’s Poetry About OFWs Leaved Many Filipinos With Teary Eyes

OFWs are hard-working Pinoys who are dreaming to give a better life for their families. Despite the long-distance relationship, limited time, heartaches, and crying nights, they sacrificed a lot for their loved ones.

A video recording of a student dedicated a poet to her father and to OFWs gone viral in social media. Akeelah Julia Dela Cruz shared her poet entitled “OFW” inside a classroom in San Jose Elementary School at Rodriguez, Rizal.

One of the students recorded the video as Akeelah spoken her poetry with teary eyes. Later on, she salutes her father that is working hard to feed their family and to provide a better future for them.

Akeelah also nailed it when she talked about the sacrifices made by the OFWs such as being alone, being sick, being okay despite being really not. She left people a message that everyone should give importance and respect to their OFW parents working hard abroad by not being a hard headed kid.
